It was with extreme pride in the United States that on April 1, 2026, I watched on television the launch of Artemis II headed for the moon. I was present on Johnston Atoll in 1969, fifty-seven years ago, when the Apollo 11 astronauts returned to the Pacific Ocean following their walk on the moon. I wrote about that experience in a blog post on July 29, 2019. Scroll down through the Archives section (on the righthand side of this website) to reach July 2019 and you will find that post.

It was thrilling to watch the liftoff today of Artemis II. I pray for this mission and the crew that they can accomplish what they’ve set out to do. 🙏🏻🚀💜🌖
Thanks for sharing, Robert. I watched the launch, too.
Exciting!
This is very exciting. I am so glad we are going to the moon again. I enjoyed your earlier article. You were right there as history was being made.
